Wooden car, hand made in 1940’s for a small boy. The maker, Leonard Williams, born 1898, West Riding, Yorkshire, England enrolled in British Army. Send to Ypres during world war I. He looked after the ponies and gun carriages. Gassed with clone gas. Leading to his death at 63 cause by lung cancer. Woodworthing shills learnt during Great Strike (1926) at workshops set up for unemployed men. The little boy, my husband, has lived in the Hage for 31 years!
